KCET Seat Allotment 2024 Only After NEET Round 1 Counselling

KCET 2024 Counselling: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has stated that it will conduct KCET counselling sessions for medical and non-medical courses simultaneously. This arrangement will commence once the National Medical Commission (NMC) initiates the first round of its NEET counselling process.

As per Deccan Herald, at the board meeting of the KEA, attended by Higher Education Minister Dr M C Sudhakar, and Medical Education Minister Dr Sharan Prakash Patil, it has been decided to schedule KCET counselling in the second week of August 2024.

As per the announced date for NEET counselling, NMC has announced the start of counselling for medical courses from August 14, 2024. KEA executive director Prasanna said, "We will resume counselling for all courses three days after NMC starts its first round. We have started option entry for non-medical courses, and only the allotment is pending." 

As of now, the last date for KCET option entry has not yet been released. KEA is awaiting the release of the seat matrix and rankings of Karnataka candiates. "Once we receive it we will start the process," he said. 

KCET 2024 Option Entry Date

Earlier, KEA extended the window for the option entry for naturopathy and yoga courses in the Karnataka Common Entrance (KCET) 2024 counselling. The authority informed that the option entry window is open until further orders. It notice states, "The option entry portal is open. Eligible candidates can continue entering their options in the order of priority for Engineering, Architecture, B.Sc. (Nursing), Farm Science, Veterinary, B-Pharma, Pharm-D, and other courses."

Q: Β  How will I know if I have been allotted seat in KCET counselling?

A:

KCET 2025 seat allotment result will be released at the official website. After KCET seat allotment result, the candidate receives a confirmation email at the registered ID. Applicants are also informed through a registered mobile number. Applicants need to login using their user ID to download KCET 2024 seat allotment letter. Candidates allotted seat must report to the institute as per the date & time mentioned in the letter. It is necessary to pay the complete fee at the time of physical reporting. 

Q: Β  What is the total number of participating institutes for KCET counselling?

A:

There are around 250 colleges that offer admissions to engineering and architecture courses. There are both morning and evening shifts colleges. Applicants have to fill in the college and course choices at the time of KCET option entry facility. The admissions to architecture colleges will be done on the basis of NATA score 2025 while engineering admissions will be done on KCET 2025 score only. Some of the top colleges for admissions to engineering and architecture courses are given below. 

  • PES University 

  • Ramaiah Institute of Technology 

  • R.V. College of Engineering 

  • Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering 

  • Siddaganga Institute of Technology 

  • KLS Gogte Institute of Technology, Belagavi

Q: Β  How is seat allotment done in KCET counselling?

A:

Karnataka Examinations Authority conducts the KCET counselling in online mode. Applicants have to complete the choice filling and locking after a successful registration. Candidates have to fill preferred choices of colleges and courses at the time of choice filling of KCET counselling 2025. KEA allots seats during the counselling process as per the choices filled by the candidates. After mock allotment, candidates are given chance to change their choice preference. After seat allotment results of KCET, candidates will be provided three options of freeze float and side. 

Q: Β  How many rounds of KCET counselling will be held?

A:

KCET UGCET counseling is generally conducted in three grounds. KEA will first release the KCET mock seat allotment result after the conclusion of the choice-filling process. The first two grounds of KCET 2024 counseling will be conducted for birth general merit and Hyderabad Karnataka region candidates. However round 3 or round 2 extended will be conducted as per the availability of seats. Candidates have to complete the KCET counseling registration as per the schedule. Only successfully registered candidates will be allowed to participate in the KCET 2025 extended round counseling.  

Q: Β  I am not interested in the seat offered during KCET counselling. Can I still participate in further seat allotment rounds without accepting

A:

Yes, you can still participate in the KCET counselling further grounds even if they are allotted seats. Applicants allotted seats can opt for float or sliding option from the login. If you want to get a seat in the same college but a different course then you can choose the slides option. However, if applicants is looking for upgradation in the college allotted then they must float option. If candidates choose freeze option after seat allotment then there is no provisions to participate in the further grounds of counseling.
