KEAM Registration 2024 Likely to Start Tomorrow; Know Expected Changes this Year
CEE is yet to announce the KEAM application form release date and the exam date. Additionally, CEE is expected to adopt the JEE Main exam conducting style for KEAM. Know more below.
KEAM 2024 registration and exam dates are still under the veil as CEE has not yet released any exam notification. CEE usually starts KEAM registration in the second week of March and announces the KEAM exam date in February via an official KEAM notification. However, CEE has yet not provided any official schedule for the Kerala Engineering Architecture and Medical entrance exam.
Last year KEAM registration started on March 17. Therefore it can be assumed that this year the KEAM registration can start around the same timeline. The KEAM registration can start tomorrow, March 15 or a few days later. Also, the KEAM exam was held on May 17, with that in mind, it can be expected that KEAM will be held in the second week of May this year.
Until last year, the KEAM exam had 2 papers that were held in 2 shifts in a single day. Each paper was of 2 hours and 30 minutes in duration.
However, as per some local news reports, with KEAM being transitioned from pen and paper mode to CBT mode, CEE is expected to adopt a JEE Main style exam conduction process. KEAM might be held in multiple shifts over days. Instead of 2 papers, there will be one paper of 3 hours duration.
KEAM 2024 in CBT Mode: Know Major Changes Expected
Previously, the KEAM (Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical) exam was conducted offline in various schools and exam centres. The exam consisted of two papers, one in the morning and another in the afternoon. However, starting this year, the KEAM will be conducted online and will be a single three-hour exam with multiple question papers conducted over several days, similar to JEE Main. The exam conducting authority is considering adopting the percentile scoring method instead of the actual score, which will be confirmed only after the prospectus is ready.
The KEAM exam witnesses around 1.5 lakh students applying for the exam, out of which 1 lakh students apply for engineering only. The Chief Superintendent of the KEAM examination centre will be the Computer Department teachers or officers of Government and Government Engineering Colleges, Higher Secondary Schools, Polytechnics, and ITIs. Assistant Professors, Polytechnic Lecturers, Demonstrators, Trade Instructors, etc. in Engineering College are considered for this purpose.
