NIRF Rankings 2024: IIT Madras has secured 1st position in the engineering category for the 9th time. Whereas, IIT BHU has been ranked 10th in the ranking. Check top 10 engineering colleges based on NIRF ranking 2024.

NIRF Ranking 2024: The Minister of State for Education and External Affairs has released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings 2024 today. IIT Madras has retained its rank 1 under the engineering institute category for the 9th consecutive year. This time, IIT BHU has also marked it prensence in the NIRF ranking 2024 top 10 engineering instititutes by securing 10th rank.

What are the parameters used for NIRF Ranking 2024?

NIRF rankings are done based on the following parameters: Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RP), Graduation Outcomes (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI), and Peer Perception.

Q:   Can I get IIT Bombay under 500 rank?

A:

During the IIT Bombay BTech cutoff 2024, the last round closing rank ranged between 68 and 4718 for the students belonging to the General AI category. So, yes, candidates who have secured a rank under 500 are eligible to get admission at IIT Bombay. However, the cutoff ranks vary depening on the course you want and on which category you belongs to. To get an idea of what courses are available up to the JEE Advanced 500 rank, please refer to the table below. The cutoff tabulated below is for students in the General AI category.

Q:   Can I get admission to IIT Bombay in BTech if my rank is between 1 and 5000?

A:

The cut off rank in Round 6 for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering is 67 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category, one can not afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting admission in IIT Bombay - Indian Institute of Technology. 

Q:   Can I get BTech at IIT Kharagpur with 6000 rank?

A:

Candidates seeking for admission to IIT Kharagpur BTech course must appear for JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced. It is possible to get IIT Kharagpur admission in BTech with 6000 rank. Although the most popular courses like BTech in Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering and Electrical Engineering stood closed between range of 261 to 1144 for JoSAA initial round , but there are courses for which ranks have crossed 6000 rank. Q:   Can I get admission to IIT Madras with a low JEE rank?

A:

As per the first cutoff list, candidates with 2000 rank can opt for specialisations such as, Computer Science and Engineering,  Mathematics and Scientific Computing and Statistics and Data Science, among others for IIT Kanpur.
