Amid ongoing layoffs, engineering graduates are getting good pay packages. A student from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal has received a job offer of INR 88 lakh per annum during campus placements.

The student, Aditya Singh from the computer science department is studying in the final year. His pay package surpassed the highest offer bagged by an NIT Warangal student last year.

Three students from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) campuses in Delhi, Kanpur, and Bombay have bagged pre-placement offers (PPOs) worth INR 4 crore. The candidates who received an offer of whopping INR 4 crore were offered an international posting by the trading firm Jane Street. IIT Hyderabad has received 508 offers, which includes 54 international, from 144 companies during Phase 1 of campus placements held between December 1 and 7.

The recruitment process was held in hybrid mode. The highest package was recorded at INR 63.78 lakh while the average package at INR 19.49 lakh for the ongoing Phase 1 placements. The company Blend 360 has released the highest number of offers, the institute stated.

Several tech companies have slowed down hiring fearing recession. News reports had earlier hinted that the global slowdown in tech may affect the placements of students at IITs. But the impact will be lesser as compared to other engineering colleges in India.
