The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) cell Odisha will conduct a special entrance examination for admission to Bachelor of Technology (BTech) courses.

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) cell Odisha will conduct a special entrance examination for admission to Bachelor of Technology (BTech) courses. According to the reports, the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE 2020) will be conducted for candidates who couldn’t appear for JEE Main exam but are interested in taking admission in BTech courses. Once the candidate clears OJEE 2020, s/he will be eligible to take admission in state-based government or private colleges.

The official statement released in this regard states, “As it is not feasible to conduct the second or special OJEE in this session because of time constraint, it has been decided to conduct, as an integral part of OJEE 2020, a Special Entrance Examination for admission into 1st year BTech,” The statement further states, “Candidates, who have already appeared or are going to appear in JEE Main 2020 for BTech admission are not required to appear the Special OJEE 2020 for BTech.”

Candidates interested in appearing for the special OJEE 2020 must note that the online process to register for the examination has started on May 12. The last day to register for special OJEE 2020 is May 31. Candidates can pay the application fee for their registration until June 5. The applications are open on the official website i.e. ojee.nic.in.

This year, the authorities decided not to conduct the second or special OJEE counselling session. The vacant seats after the first round of counselling (using JEE Main merit list) will be filled through OJEE. The special OJEE 2020 exam dates and counselling details will be released once the lockdown is lifted.

OJEE Special Exam 2020: How to apply

  • Visit the official site of OJEE at ojee.nic.in.
  • On the homepage, click on the OJEE 2020 Special registration link available 
  • A new page will open where candidates will have to enter the required details
  • Click on the payment option and make the payment
  • Download the confirmation page and if needed keep a hard copy of the same for future reference

Earlier, OJEE was scheduled to be conducted from May 2 to May 5. The OJEE 2020 result was to be released by the first week of June. However, the scheduled was cancelled due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus followed by multiple lockdowns in order to contain the virus spread.
