Only 18% candidates qualify GATE 2023: IIT Kanpur
GATE 2023 was conducted in 29 subject areas with the choice of selecting two papers in some subjects. From the 5.17 lakh that appeared, around 1 lakh candidates have qualified the GATE 2023 examination, making it about 18% as GATE 2023 qualified.
This year, around 6.70 lakh candidates registered for the exam for 29 papers, of whom 5.17 lakh took the test in more than 500 centres across the country. Around one lakh have qualified, taking the total pass percentage to about 18 per cent. The overall attendance stood at 77 per cent, the organising institute IIT Kanpur said in a press release.
IIT Kanpur announced the results of GATE 2023 on March 16. GATE 2023 exam was held on 4, 5, 11 and 12 February, 2023,in eight sessions. Out of the 29 papers, 12 papers registered more than 20 per cent qualified candidates. Among those, the Metallurgical Engineering paper records about 25 per cent qualified candidates making it the highest qualified percentage for GATE this year.
GATE 2023 score card will be available on March 22 instead of March 21. Candidates will be able to download their scorecard from the portal till May 31 without any fees.
