Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology has started admissions for BE and BTech programmes. This year institute recorded unprecedented number of applications for undergraduate courses. TIET BE/BTech Admission Cutoff
TIET BE and BTech cutoff percentiles in first and second rounds of counselling ranged between 97 and 98. Many programmes witnessed intense competition particularly Computer Science and Engineering newly launched Data Science and Artificial Intelligence programme, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science and Business Systems. These sought after streams drew top performing students from across country contributing to a dynamic and academically driven cohort. Thapar University admission to most of the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses is based on candidates' performance in several national-level entrance exams. For TIET BTech admission, candidates must have class 12 and a valid JEE Main score. Apart from JEE Main, TIET also accepts CAT/XAT/CMAT/MAT/GMAT/GRE/ Thapar Entrance Test for MBA and GATE for ME/ M.Tech admission.
Thapar University admission to the BTech course is a two-way process, one is entrance-based and another is merit-based. Interested candidates can apply for TIET BTech admission either way. Thapar University's 50% of seats will be filled on the basis of JEE Main scores and the rest 50% is based on the marks secured in the Class 12 examination. The minimum eligibility criteria is different for both entrance and merit-based admission. TIET is currently accepting applications for the BE/ BTech courses, interested candidates must visit the official website of TIET to apply online.
Thapar University offers four-year BE/BTech courses at the undergraduate level, candidates seeking admission to TIET Patiala must visit the official website of the University to apply online. Yes, TIET considers Class 12 marks for admission to the BE/BTech courses along with valid JEE Main scores. Based on the marks secured in the entrance exam, a merit list is prepared. The merit list prepared by the University for BTech admission also includes the marks secured in Physics, Chemistry and Maths during the Class 12 examination.
TIET also offers lateral entry admissions for diploma holders, allowing eligible students to join directly in the second year of BE and BTech programme. This pathway not only saves a full academic year but also provides merit-based scholarships of up to 50%. Lateral entry students receive same academic rigour and placement support as regular engineering students.
