TNEA Counselling 2024 Round 2 Choice Filling Ends Today; Check Seats Available for Second Allotment
DoTE is conducting the TNEA 2024 round 2 counselling. The choice filling for the current round will end today, August 12. Check what will be followed and number of seats available for the current counselling round below.
The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions 2024 (TNEA 2024) round 2 choice filling window will close today, August 12. The candidates can fill the round 2 seat allotment choices under their respective logins at tneaonline.org. To login, candidates have to use their TNEA 2024 registered email ID and password.
Candidates can select as many choices as per the available options for round 2 allotments using the choice filling process. The choice filling window will end at 5 pm today and candidates have to select and lock their choices before the deadline.
TNEA 2024 Choice Filling Process
To complete the TNEA 2024 counselling process, candidates should follow these steps:
Step 1: Log in to the official website.
Step 2: Candidates must carefully select their preferences for securing a seat in their desired branch of an institution. Seats will be allotted based on factors such as availability, rank, and community.
Step 3: Candidates have the flexibility to add or remove choices within a specified period. After finalizing their choices, they can download the choice list and also opt to have it sent to their email.
Step 4: Following any adjustments to their choices, candidates must lock them in. This involves requesting and entering an OTP (One Time Password) that will be sent to their registered mobile number and email address. Once the OTP is entered, candidates can lock their choices by clicking the 'Lock My Choice' button.
The TNEA 2024 round 2 tentative seat allotment result will be announced on August 13, tomorrow. Candidates will be allowed to confirm their tentative allotment by August 14. The provisional allotment will be announced on August 15 along with the tentative allotment for candidates who have selected the accept and upward movement option.

TNEA 2024 counselling has three rounds. The round 3 counselling will begin on August 23. After the general counselling is over, TNEA supplementary counselling will start followed by the SCA to SC counselling.

You have to apply on the official TNEA website. Engineering colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu offer admission based on the results of the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions TNEA exam.
- The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Technical Education is in charge of conducting this exam. Following the exam, seats are assigned in engineering colleges through the TNEA counselling process.

- Children of Central Government Employees, irrespective of their nativity, provided their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years at the time of TNEA application form submission.
- Sons/daughters of All India Service Tamil Nadu cadre officers. Children of employees in the Public Sector or Government recognised institutions who at the time of TNEA 2025 application form submission had been working in their organisations for the past five years are also eligible to apply, irrespective of their domicile.
- Other state candidates who have studied from Class VIII to Class XII in Tamil Nadu can also apply for TNEA 2025.
- Tamil Nadu native candidates who have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI and XII standards or their equivalent examinations from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply for TNEA.
Q: How to fill choices in TNEA counselling?
Check below the steps on how to fill choices in TNEA 2025 counselling: Add/Remove Choices: Candidates have to choose carefully their preferences for getting a seat in a branch in an institution. Based on the availability of seats, rank, and community, candidates will be allotted. Candidates must prepare a list of choices in the order of preference to enter the choices in the order preference correctly and quickly. Choice Entry and Locking of Choices will be available for 3 days, 3rd day until 5.00 pm. All the above processes can be completed from anywhere, from your home if you have a facility or you can avail of the facility of TFC.
