VITREE PhD Admission 2025: The Vellore Institute of Technology closed the VITREE PhD application form window for January session admission. With the closing of VITREE PhD application window, it is expected that the admit card will be released soon. As per the schedule, the VITREE PhD 2025 exam is scheduled to be held on December 7.
Only those who have been issued the VITREE PhD 2025 admit card will be allowed to appear for the entrance exam. Candidates can download the VITREE PhD admit card online at the official website. VITREE PhD 2025 will be held for 2 hours. All questions will be in Multiple Choice format, with 1 mark awarded for each correct answer and 0 for incorrect responses.

VITREE PhD 2025 Exam Pattern
As per the paper pattern of VITREE PhD, the exam will be held for 2 hours, with all questions in a Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) format.
- Ph.D. Question Paper: The paper will consist of 100 MCQs (Technical: 70 questions, English Communication Skills: 15 questions, Statistics and Probability: 15 questions)
- Direct Ph.D. Question Paper: The paper will also contain 100 MCQs (Technical: 80 questions and English Communication Skills: 20 questions).

Q: Β Can I join VIT without 60% in PCM for BDes?
No, a minimum of Class 12 with at least 60% in PCM is required to apply for VIT Vellore BDes programme. However, there is relaxation in percentage for SC/ ST and students from North-Eastern states. Check below the detailed eligibility:
- Indian nationals/ Non-resident Indian National can apply for BDes course.
- Candidates should have passed Class 12 or Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognised board/ university or its equivalent examination with at least 60% aggregate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects to apply for BDes.
- Students who have appeared for Class 12 finals and awaiting results can also apply, subject to submission of passing certificate by the notified date.
Note: In case, applicants belong to SC/ST community or hail from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, 10% relaxation is provided.

No, aspirants wishing to apply for BDes course at VIT Vellore should either have UCEED score or appeared for VIT DAT (Design Aptitude Test). VIT-DAT is a written exam of two hours duration consisting of objective type questions - MSQ & MCQ, short descriptive answers, and creative ability questions with no negative marking. The university gives 50% weightage to entrance exam score. After entrance exam, the next step of selection is based on portfolio followed by a personal interview round.
