Why is KEAM 2024 Registration Delayed; Will CEE Postpone Exam Due to Lok Sabha Elections?

There is an unexpected delay in the release of KEAM 2024 exam date. Usually, KEAM exam dates are announced in February and the KEAM registrations start by the third week of March. Know why CEE has not yet announced KEAM details in this report below.

CEE will announce KEAM registration details and the KEAM 2024 exam date anytime soon. However, this year CEE is behind schedule in releasing the KEAM 2024 notification informing candidates about KEAM dates and release of the KEAM application form.

There can be various reasons behind this delay. First, KEAM is going to be transformed into a computer based test format for the first time. CEE is going to adopt the JEE Main style pattern for the conduction of the KEAM 2024 exam. This can be one of the reasons for the delay. Second, there are some changes suggested by the Director of Technical Education in the reservation policy. DoTE has suggested the abolition of the floating reservation system, and the changes are to be included in the KEAM prospectus. The changes in the reservation policy need government approval and thus, the finalisation of the KEAM prospectus is still underway. These can be the two reasons leading to the delay in the release of KEAM details.

However, CEE is expected to overcome the delay and release the KEAM exam date and the online application form by the end of this month. 

Will CEE Postpone KEAM Exam Date Due to Lok Sabha Elections?

The KEAM exam is usually held in May. The exam date is expected to remain unaffected due to the Lok Sabha elections 2024, as elections in Kerala will be held in phase 1 which is on April 26. This leads to no clash of election activities with the Kerala Engineering, Architecture, and Medical Entrance Exam (KEAM). However, the KEAM exam is expected to be held in the second or third week of May to avoid any clashes with the NEET UG exam scheduled for May 5.

Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) will release KEAM 2024 details on the official KEAM website cee.kerala.gov.in. Currently, CEE has invited the eligible candidates of KEAM 2023  for submission of bank account details for refund.
