The Young Entrepreneurs Foundation (YEF), in partnership with the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Delhi Innovation & Incubation Center, recently hosted an impactful live summit, "Classroom to Startup: School Innovation Hubs for Nurturing Future Entrepreneurs." Bringing together school principals, educators, and industry leaders, the event showcased pioneering strategies for embedding entrepreneurship in education. The summit’s goal was to equip the next generation with the skills and mindset needed to thrive in an innovation-driven world.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Himanshu Gupta, IAS, Secretary of CBSE, alongside Prof. Pankaj Vajpayee, Director and CEO of the IIITD Innovation & Incubation Center. Prof. Vajpayee, also the Dean of Corporate Relations and Entrepreneurship at IIIT Delhi, welcomed attendees and underscored the importance of higher education in fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among students.
Himanshu Gupta, IAS, Secretary of CBSE, emphasised the need to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset in students, urging them to transition from job seekers to job creators. He announced the upcoming launch of YEF's five-day boot camp at the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, scheduled for December 2024. He also praised YEF's initiatives for driving transformative change in schools throughout India.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar Gupta from SCERT discussed the development and promotion of the Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum across Delhi schools, while Dr. Akhilesh Mishra from the Department of Science and Technology (DST) pledged DST’s support for YEF's initiatives. Dr. Mishra assured attendees that DST would fund innovative student ideas, strengthening the foundation for creativity and growth.

The interactive sessions provided educators with practical tools and strategies to integrate entrepreneurship and innovation into their classrooms, empowering students with essential skills for success in a rapidly changing world. Experts explored teaching methods that foster innovation and showcased how incubation centres can support young entrepreneurs. Additionally, young entrepreneurs shared their journeys, inspiring students to pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations at any age.

The technology institute is ranked 85 under the “Engineering” category in the NIRF 2024 rankings. IIIT Delhi also provides placement support to the students. During the BTech 2024 placements, a placement rate of 90.99% was achieved. Moreover, the highest domestic and average package offered was INR 49 LPA and INR 22.04 LPA, respectively. The average package stood at INR 25.39 LPA. Hence, students can consider pursuing BTech from IIIT Delhi.

The YEF Entrepreneurship Boot Camp is a transformative five-day program designed to spark entrepreneurial passion and provide students with the tools necessary for success in the business world. In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, this boot camp prioritises experiential learning and practical skill development. Participants will engage in interactive workshops, case studies, and hands-on projects, exploring key aspects of entrepreneurship such as idea generation, business planning, and strategic execution.
To further support young innovators, YEF has announced its inaugural five-day Boot Camp for students in grades 6-12, set to take place from December 25 to 29, 2024, at the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) in Ahmedabad. This program aims to equip students with the essential tools and confidence to unlock their entrepreneurial potential.
