Yuva Sangam: IIT Bombay welcomes 45 youth from Punjab
The Yuva Sangam programme aims at strengthening people-to-people connect and build empathy among youth across the nation. It envisages participation of 1000 youngsters from 23 states and UTs of India.
For the first time, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has welcomed 45 youth from Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, Punjab, under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) ‘Yuva Sangam’ campaign.
The delegates will arrive in Mumbai on May 7, 2023, and will be welcomed by Deputy Director (Academic and Infrastructure Affairs) Prof S Sudarshan at the institute. The delegation from Punjab will reside on the IIT Bombay campus between May 7 and 12, 2023.
Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais will address the delegates during an interaction session at Raj Bhavan on May 9 at 2 pm. The delegates will be accompanied by AICTE Chairman Prof TG Sitharam, IIT Director Bombay Prof Subhasis Chaudhuri and IIT Bombay Registrar Ganesh Bhorkade. Besides, they will visit Bombay Stock Exchange, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Gateway of India, Vidhan Sabha, Kanheri Caves and other places of interest.
The Yuva Sangam programme, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims at strengthening people-to-people connect and build empathy among youth across the nation. It envisages participation of 1000 youngsters from 23 states and UTs of India. Maharashtra has been paired with Punjab. As many as 35 youth from Maharashtra and 10 from Dadra-Nagar Haveli, Daman-Diu will travel to NIT Jalandhar during May 12-19, 2023.The exposure tour will provide a multidimensional experience under five broad areas: Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Prodyogik (Technology) and Paraspar Sampark (People-to-people connect).
