Goa University has not only postponed the offline exams by three weeks due to the surge in COVID-19 cases, but the varsity has also altered the dates for its term break. As per the new notification, the University has announced the term break from January 24 to January 29. The offline exams will be conducted for the students from February 7 onwards.
“In a partial modification to the circular dated August 9, 2021, relating to academic terms applicable to UG/PG general education programmes for the academic year 2021-22, the term break shall be from January 24 to January 29, instead of February 9, to February 13,” the university said in a circular.
It must be noted that examinations have been postponed only for the final year students, which will be scheduled to be conducted in the offline or physical mode. The university has already conducted examinations in the online mode for all other students of undergraduate programmes this month as per the schedule. The semester-end examinations for postgraduate programmes at Goa University as well as in the affiliated general stream colleges are also to be held in the offline mode.
Meanwhile, GU, in another circular, said that special examinations would be conducted for students who are unable to appear for one or more papers of this semester-end exam. Students who could not answer the papers for reasons like lack of public transport, family members being Covid positive or due to illness will be eligible to answer the special exam.
