Glad that IITs are working to harness full potential of 5G: Pradhan
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated IInvenTive, the two-day research and development fair featuring all 23 IITs.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited the Bharti School of Telecommunication Technology and Management at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. The institute is a part of the multi-institute collaborative 5G testbed project led by IIT Madras.
He said, “I am glad to learn that the institute along with our IITs is working to harness the full potential of 5G for society’s welfare, especially in the areas of healthcare, national security, manufacturing, agriculture and education among others.”
Pradhan today inaugurated IInvenTive, the two-day research and development fair featuring all 23 IITs. He said an IIT visit could hardly be completed in a day because the IITs were full of old wisdom and experience which can prove to be bridges to a bright future. There was simply too much to see and experience. He hoped that IInvenTiv would become an event of global note in the coming years when people from all over the world would come to India to attend the same for the innovative ideas and projects being showcased that could solve problems in their own nations as well.
All 75 innovations have potential to go global: Pradhan
The research fair IInvenTiv showcases 75 selected innovation projects across 10 themes from various IITs along with six showcase projects which are a cut above the rest -- speech-to-speech translation, drones, 5G technology, electric vehicles, societal impact projects, and healthcare innovations.
“Each of the 75 innovations here has the potential to go global because of their low production cost, the innovative mindset in India and the risk-taking capacity of innovators,” said the Education Minister.
