Government Law College, Mumbai, students are not pleased with the idea of "hybrid classrooms" and they along with faculty members are planning to write to the college administration to start fully offline classes.
The students of Government Law College, Mumbai, have expressed concern over teachers holding classes in both online and offline mode as they opine that it will adversely impact their learning. The students have said that they are not happy with the idea of "hybrid classrooms" and they are planning to write to the college administration along with other faculty members to start fully offline classes.
The University of Mumbai has already announced the examination to be conducted in an offline mode.
One of the students has told the Indian Express, “The university has already issued an order to all affiliated colleges to start offline classes. But since there was no such communication from the college for many days, some of us visited the campus only to know that the professors were taking online lectures from classes.”
As per the report, many students who need hostel accommodation are also waiting for the college's official announcement on holding fully on-campus classes so that they could apply for the hostel.
One of the faculty members has said, “Since there is no plan for a hybrid model of learning, we cannot offer the same lecture in both formats – offline as well as online. From Monday, we are seeing such students coming to the college only to return home to join classes online.”
Principal of GLC, Asmita Vaidya said, “We have started offline classes also. Those students who can attend physically are coming to the college while others are attending online.”
