Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has sent a proposal to the Medical Education Department for establishing a new medical college in Panchkula.

Haryana government is gearing up to set up a new medical college in the Panchkula district of the state. As per the reports, Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has sent a proposal to the Medical Education Department for setting new medical college in the district.

Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta recently held a meeting with the Additional Chief Secretaries of the Health Department and the Medical Education and Research Department and took up a progress report on the project, as reported by Tribune India.

The Haryana government wants to start the MBBS classes in Panchkula medical college next year. The plan is to link the Civil Hospital, Sector 6, Panchkula with the new medical college.

The college was announced by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on demand of the Assembly Speaker at the Jan Vikas Maharally held in Panchkula on April 10, 2022, and the Chief Minister has also directed the HSVP officials to find out the land for the medical college.

The HSVP has identified 30.51 acres of land in Sector 32.

Medical college in Yamunanagar to named after Guru Tegh Bahadur

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said that the medical college to be established in Yamunanagar will be named Guru Tegh Bahadur Medical College.

"The medical college, which is being set up over 60 acres of land at Panjupur village in Yamunanagar, will be named as Guru Tegh Bahadur Medical College," said the CM, as reported by India Today.
