AAP Teachers Wing demands release of grant for 12 Delhi govt funded DU colleges
In June, Delhi Govt announced the release of Rs 100 Crore to 12 DU Colleges but, this fund has not reached the colleges yet despite one and half months have lapsed.
Aam Aadmi Party teachers wing National Incharge Dr Aditya Narayan Misra and Delhi University EC members Seema Das and Rajpal Singh Pawar have submitted a memorandum to Delhi Education Minister Atishi demanding to resolve the financial issues of 12 Delhi Government fully funded colleges on an urgent basis.
On 28th June 2023, the Minister of Education clearly reiterated the policy resolve of the government that the teachers should not be penalized due to the faults of the management and announced the release of Rs 100 Crore as a second quarterly grant. But, this fund has not reached the colleges yet despite one and a half months having lapsed.
In their memorandum, the teachers have also demanded that Pending Arrears for Promotions, Medical Bills, and clearance of LTC/HTC bills should be resolved without any further delay.
As per the memorandum, in these colleges, the teachers and employees have not been paid salaries ranging from 1 to 3 months. It states: In DU, the teachers got delayed promotions, in many cases after 15-16 years because of the problems created by the MHRD-UGC-DU Administration, which have created huge arrears for promotions.”
The teachers have also alleged that the teachers and employees are not getting retirement benefits at the time of retirement. The pension should also be regularized. There are difficulties in clearing the medical bills of the teachers and employees.
They demanded to release the second quarterly grant of Rs 100 Crore without any further delay and expedite the pending financial issues of these colleges.
