Andhra University to conduct APRCET 2019 for MPhil & PhD admissions

Andhra University (AU) will conduct Andhra Pradesh Research Common Entrance Test (APRCET) also known as AURCET for the academic session, 2019-20 tentatively in November 2019. For the second time in the 2019/20 academic year, the APRCET 2019 entrance exam will be held. The online registration for the APRCET 2019 application forms will be available on the official website from September 16 onwards. All candidates seeking admission in MPhil and PhD courses offered at 14 universities in Andhra Pradesh can fill the application form online on the official website.
All candidates who possess a master’s or professional degree (equivalent to a master’s degree) with at least 55% aggregate marks or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale are eligible to apply for APRCET 2019.
Students who have qualified UGC NET, JRF and GATE, where the candidate’s score validity period has not expired, need not sit for the entrance exam.
The entrance exam for MPhil and PhD admissions will be conducted in a total of 68 subjects.

Andhra University is scheduled to conduct AURCET/APRCET 2019 in two parts – A and B. Part A will contain teaching and research aptitude questions. The section will carry a total of 90 marks. On the other hand, Part B will contain subject-specific questions of 90 marks. Candidates have to complete the exam in a duration of 180 minutes.

Marking scheme: One mark will be awarded for every correct answer. 1/6 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
All candidates who qualify the written entrance test will have to appear for interview/ viva-voce conducted by the university department. In the interview/ viva-voce round candidates have to discuss their research interest through a presentation before a duly constituted committee. APRCET 2019 interview round will hold 20 marks weightage in the exam.
