Banaras Hindu University Appoints Nishat Afroz as Associate Dean of Students

The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain has appointed Prof. Nishat Afroz, Mahila Mahavidyalaya, as the Associate Dean of Students (Student Development).

At Banaras Hindu University, student welfare and development are among the highest concerns. The university has started numerous programmes for students' development as part of its efforts in this area, to foster their abilities and give them the tools they need to succeed in both life and the workplace.

Activities under the Find the Leader in You Programme, the Student Well-Being Initiative, and the Student Governance and Life Skills Progress Initiative have been carried out by various departments in close collaboration with the Dean of Students Welfare office, which acts as an interface and bridge between stakeholders.

In an effort to speed up the student growth programmes, the institution has reinforced the Dean of Students Office to facilitate more efficient program execution. Prof. Nishat Afroz of Mahila Mahavidyalaya has been appointed as the Associate Dean of Students (Student Development) by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain.

In addition to supporting the dean of students, the associate dean of students (student development) will work with units engaged in student development initiatives. Furthermore, the Associate Dean of Students will work proactively with other members of the faculty to create and coordinate related activities that function successfully across departments.
