Under the GEFP, faculty members with limited international exposure in their academic careers will receive a consolidated fellowship of USD 3000 per month, along with coverage for travel expenses.
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has launched the Global Experience Faculty Program (GEFP). This pioneering initiative, aligned with the objectives outlined in the New Education Policy 2020, aims to provide BHU faculty members with the opportunity to spend up to a year in top 500 global institutions as per renowned rankings such as THE or Q-S.
Under the GEFP, faculty members with limited international exposure in their academic careers will receive a consolidated fellowship of USD 3000 per month, along with coverage for travel expenses. This financial support aims to facilitate their participation in global institutions without constraints.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain highlighted the program as a testament to BHU's commitment to creating new avenues for growth and excellence. "We aim to ensure the growth and development of our faculty members and cultivate collaborations with top-tier international institutions, thereby expanding the global outreach and presence of BHU," said Prof. Jain.
The GEFP, launched under the Institution of Eminence at BHU, underscores the university's vision of promoting collaboration and outreach. Prof. Sanjay Kumar, BHU's IoE Coordinator, emphasized the program's potential to significantly enhance the teaching and research prowess of BHU's educators by providing them with invaluable exposure to international academic practices.
With this initiative, BHU seeks to make a substantial contribution to its overarching growth and excellence. By investing in the development of faculty members and fostering international collaborations, BHU aims to elevate its academic standing and reputation on a global scale, thereby contributing to the advancement of Indian higher education.
