BHU NIRF Ranking 2024: Position Retains in University Category; Improves in Medical, Management Group
Banaras Hindu University continues to be among the top five universities in India as per NIRF ranking 2024. Besides, BHU ranking in the Medical, Dental and Management categories has improved in the academic session 2024.
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has retained its position of 5th best varsity in the university category in NIRF Ranking 2024. The university has received 66.05 points to secure this position. Besides, the university has also retained 11th position in the overall category same as 2023.
Interestingly, the university has made significant improvements in the Medical, Dental and Management categories in 2024. The University’s Institute of Medical Sciences has climbed up one spot to secure the 7th position in 2024, while the Faculty of Dental Sciences has also climbed up by one position to 17th. Institute of Management Studies has climbed up by 8 positions to the 48th spot compared to 56th, last year.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain congratulated the members of BHU saying "We improved our ranking in 2023 and have successfully maintained it this year. However, I feel there is still scope for further climbing the ladder and we are working on it. In the past few years, the university has taken several initiatives that are aimed at encouraging quality research and education, as well as attracting the best minds and talents. We are facilitating teaching-learning and research by providing incentives, financial assistance, attractive funding, and scholarships as well as building state-of-the-art infrastructure. This, as a result, is helping us in upgrading the university’s research profile, and establishing BHU as a leading public university which is striving towards fulfilling the aspirations of students from across the world."
BHU ranking in the Agriculture and Allied sectors has also been retained at 4th position with 68.32 points. The National Institutional Ranking Framework, Ministry of Education, Government of India, has added three new categories this year including State Universities, Skill Universities and Open Universities.
