BHU Partners with Mahamana Cancer Centre to Enhance Patient Care and Research
This collaboration extends beyond medical research to encompass joint academic initiatives across various disciplines, opening doors for combined research efforts in science, engineering, medicine, and interdisciplinary fields.
Banaras Hindu University and the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Cancer Centre, Varanasi, have united in a significant move prioritizing patient care and advancing academic and research prospects.
This collaborative agreement aims to extend advanced medical treatments to a wider audience while leveraging each institution's strengths and expertise.
The memorandum facilitates a range of benefits, including special investigations for patients at the Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), BHU, at subsidized rates, which are not available within BHU. Furthermore, BHU employees and their dependents will access credit treatment through empanelment, a process aligned with CGHS.

It also encourages the exchange of students, faculty, and researchers between the institutions. Medical staff from both institutes will have opportunities to work at the other, enhancing their skills and adopting best practices for improved patient care.
BHU VC, Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain emphasized BHU's patient-centric approach, stating that the partnership with Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital will further BHU's commitment to meeting the needs of individuals seeking treatment there. He highlighted the potential for significant impact resulting from the combined expertise of BHU, HMCH, and MPMMCC.
Dr. Satyajit Pradhan, Director of HMCH and MPMMCC, views this memorandum as a milestone in service, education, and research. He expressed confidence that this collaboration will provide seamless, comprehensive, and affordable cancer treatment to patients, aligning with the values of Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya.
Prof. Rajendra Badwe, Professor Emeritus & Former Director of Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, stressed the collaborative opportunities with Banaras Hindu University in addressing challenges in cancer treatment. He emphasized the potential for impactful collaboration across various areas of interest, further strengthening their collective efforts.
