BHU’s Ranveer Sanskrit Vidyalaya Gets Charu Mahal As Student Hostel

Charu Mahal, also a heritage building, has 20 flats and 52 rooms, and can comfortably accommodate nearly 120 students. 

Ranveer Sanskrit Vidyalaya of the Banaras Hindu University has equipped Charu Mahal, also a heritage building, as the hostel campus for students. Ranveer Sanskrit Vidyalaya has been facing for a long time the shortage of hostel accommodation. Hence, the shortage has now been resolved with the availability of nearly 120 hostel seats for students. 

Charu Mahal, also a heritage building, has 20 flats and 52 rooms, and can comfortably accommodate nearly 120 students. The authorities have renovated and equipped it with the necessary amenities. Reportedly, the building is estimated to be over one hundred and fifty years old. The renovation of the building was undertaken on priority at the initiative of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain. 

Ranveer Sanskrit Vidyalaya, founded in 1883 and taken over by BHU in 1918, attracts students from all around the country. As a result, hostel availability for students from cities apart from Varanasi has been a long-standing concern. 

Enhancing amenities to ensure a vibrant and smooth campus life for students is among the top priorities of Banaras Hindu University. The university has been putting greater focus on strengthening infrastructure by investing more effort as well as funds. BHU is in addition developing new hostels but also upgrading existing ones to meet the rising demand for university accommodation among students.
