BML Munjal University Students Innovate Walking Stick 'PathPal' for Blinds
BML Munjal University's School of Engineering and Technology have developed an innovative smart walking stick to improve the mobility and safety of the visually impaired.
Students from BML Munjal University's School of Engineering & Technology developed an innovative approach for blind people named 'PathPal'. It is a smart walking stick invented by Kanika Sharma and Abhimanyu Gulati, that improves mobility and safety for people with vision impairments. Their innovative assistive technology is created with the goal of empowering people and promoting greater inclusivity in society.
PathPal is a detachable device that is simple to install on ordinary walking sticks. It offers real-time feedback in the form of vibrations and audible alarms by using advanced ultrasonic sensors to identify a variety of obstacles such as potholes and hanging objects.
