British High Commission Calls on BHU Vice Chancellor Prof Sudhir Kumar Jain to discuss possible areas of collaboration and exchange of expertise and specialisation.
British High Commission Delegation called on BHU Vice Chancellor Sudhir Kumar Jain on Wednesday to discuss potential academic opportunities. The delegation led by Natalia Leigh, Head of Political & Bilateral Affairs, British High Commission New Delhi and comprises Beck Buckingham, OBE Minister Counsellor – Political, and Rajendra Tripathi, Head of Education Program and Partnerships, British Council India discussed the possible areas of collaboration and possibilities for exchange of expertise and specialisation.
BHU To Collaborate for Development of Students
Vice Chancellor Sudhir Kumar Jain specifies that Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is willing to collaborate with global associations to open new possibilities for growth and development for its students and teachers. He further elaborates on opportunities for collaboration and strength in diverse areas. He underlined that the varsity holds a unique distinction in terms of the large range of areas of study and research it offers.
Furthermore, Prof. Jain highlights the BHU curriculum that prepares students for life rather than just focusing on subject-specific teaching. Student well-being and leadership have been launched at the faculty level for the complete development of students.
British High Commission Appreciate BHU
The British delegation conveyed its deep interest in collaborating with Banaras Hindu University, referring to it as one of the most renowned and reputed universities in India. BHU’s environment, green energy, sustainable development, inter-disciplinary research, art and culture have been talked about.
Natalia Leigh also wished that the collaboration should explore the possibility of working together in areas like artificial intelligence. Programs like the Chevening Scholarship and SCOUT are open to Indian students; and appreciated by the delegation.
The visiting delegation showed keen interest in knowing more about the Department of Hindi in the Faculty of Arts. Prof. Ashish Tripathi from the department briefed the delegation about the academic programs and research activities taking place in the department. Members of the delegation were curious to know about short-term programs on Indian languages, art and culture.
