The University has launched a dedicated website for easy access to information pertaining to all admissions. Due to the challenges that occurred due to COVID-19, this year, DU has decided to not change the eligibility criteria i.e. the criteria for all the programmes will remain the same. With this, there will be no change in the registration fees as well. Some other highlights mentioned in the Press Release are:

  • Undergraduate admission will be centralised through a single registration/application form. The same form will be used by all departments and colleges. Students must fill out a single registration form for postgraduate courses, but they must pay different fees if they enrol in more than one programme.

  • The DUET entrance exam 2021 for all the programmes will be conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency). The official exam dates will be released shortly. With this, the University has also notified that the exam centres and courses will be increased.

  • Non-NET candidates seeking admission to a PhD or MPhil programme must take the DUET 2021. Admissions to bachelor's degrees in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, prosthetics and orthotics, and master's degrees in physiotherapy will be handled through DUET beginning in 2021-22. Read more

  • Cut-offs will be used for UG merit-based admissions, as they have been in prior years. In a statement, DU stated, "The admission branch is working with college principals on mechanisms for setting cut-offs so as to avoid over and under admissions."

  • Students who join through the Extracurricular Activities (ECA) and Sports quotas will make up at least 1% of a college's total admission capacity. Using the ECA and Sports quotas, a college can admit up to 5% of its overall intake strength.

  • DU may not conduct trials for ECA and Sports quota admissions due to the COVID-19 scenario in the country. “Admissions to these supernumerary seats will be based on the applicants' Merit/Participation certificates. Applicants will be able to upload certificates from the previous four years (1st May 2017 – 30th April 2021) only this year, according to the institution.

  • To assist students in the admissions process, the DU admission brunch plans to offer webinars and upload teaching videos. The dates for the webinars will be announced on the Duke University website. “In addition, computer-based help desks in the form of chatbots and emails will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to answer candidates' questions,” DU said.
