Delhi University, Shriram Institute for Industrial Research Forge Collaborative for Research and Development
DU and SRI are set to facilitate reciprocal visits of experts, scientific staff, teachers, students, and researchers.
The University of Delhi (DU) and Shriram Institute for Industrial Research (SRI) have formalized a strategic collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering joint initiatives in research and development.
The MoU, signed between DU and SRI, marks the initiation of a five-year partnership that may be extended subsequently upon mutual consent. The agreement outlines a comprehensive framework for collaborative endeavors, encompassing diverse activities such as research projects, training sessions, workshops, and conferences. Both institutions aim to leverage their shared facilities and expertise for the advancement of knowledge and innovation.
Under the terms of this collaboration, DU and SRI are set to facilitate reciprocal visits of experts, scientific staff, teachers, students, and researchers. These visits are geared towards sharing knowledge, utilizing each other's facilities, and enhancing mutual expertise. The coordination of these visits will be prearranged, ensuring clarity on purposes, durations, and associated arrangements to maximize the collaborative exchange's effectiveness.
The partnership will also encourage joint research projects in areas of common interest. Both DU and SRI are empowered to seek collaborations on various projects from national and international agencies, leveraging their combined capabilities and expertise.
In a bid to promote academic integration, researchers and scientists from SRI will have the opportunity to enroll for Ph.D. programs at DU. Supervision will be provided by faculty members from both institutions, fostering interdisciplinary guidance and learning. Conversely, SRI scientists may also become mentors for Ph.D. students from DU, establishing a symbiotic relationship in academic mentorship.
Additionally, joint workshops, seminars, and short-term training sessions will be organized for the mutual benefit of students, faculty members, and scientists from both DU and SRI. SRI will extend training in several domains including Research & Development, Pilot Plant and Innovation Support, Toxicological Studies, Microbiological Studies, Civil & Infrastructure, Environment Protection, Gamma Irradiation Processing, Calibration of equipment/Instruments, and Technology Business Incubation to DU students and scholars upon request.
The collaborative efforts between DU and SRI aim to create a robust platform for knowledge exchange, skill enhancement, and innovative research, promising a fruitful partnership that advances the realms of academic and industrial research and development.
