According to the official notice, Delhi University summer vacation for semester I and II will begin on April 29 and August 15, respectively, while for semesters III and IV, the vacation will be from May 30 to August 15.

The University of Delhi (DU) is all set to commence classes for all programmes from August 16, according to an official announcement. The varsity has taken this decision to bring uniformity across semesters.

Talking about how the COVID-19 pandemic had disturbed the academic calendar, resulting in a break of few days or no break across colleges, the varsity through an official press release said, pandemic had also affected the uniformity of semesters as classes for different years were starting at different times. Teachers had also been demanding one-month compulsory break as “continuous working was impacting their mental health.”

In a notification issued on July 5, 2023, the Delhi University (DU) said it has amended previous notifications to give effect to a uniform academic calendar. It added that summer vacation for semester I and II will begin on April 29 and August 15, respectively, while for semesters III and IV, the vacation will be from May 30 to August 15.

The summer vacation for V, VI, VII and VIII semesters started on May 27, and the classes will start on August 16. Teachers have appreciated the step, saying scattered semesters were causing issues for teachers as well as students.

Meanwhile, Delhi University has also commenced the registration process for its BTech programmes. Candidates willing to apply for the programme have to register on the official portal of the university. The registration process started on July 5, 2023.

Candidates must note that DU BTech registration process 2023 will close on July 25 at 11:59 p.m. During the registration process, candidates are required to pay a one-time non-refundable registration-cum-allocation fee. According to the university, all the candidates will have to pay the fee for registration. The fee for candidates belonging to unreserved OBC-NCL and EWS is INR 1,500 and INR 1200 for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
