DTU VC Yogesh Singh to head Delhi University
President Kovind has also appointed Dr Neelima Gupta as the Vice-Chancellor of the Dr Hari Singh Gaur Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar.
Delhi Technological University Vice-Chancellor Prof Yogesh Singh has been appointed as the VC of the University of Delhi. DU was running without a full-time Vice-Chancellor since October last year when Yogesh Tyagi was removed from his post.
The President of India, in his capacity as the Visitor of the Delhi University, has appointed Prof Yogesh Singh as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delhi. Singh has been appointed for a period of five years.
Singh has received his MTech (Electronics & Communication Engineering) and PhD in Computer Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, Haryana.
Yogesh Singh is currently serving as the VC of Delhi Technological University and prior to joining DTU, he was serving as the Director of Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT), Delhi.
Singh has also served as vice-chancellor of Maharaja Sayajirao University in Baroda.
He has also served at various administrative posts in Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) as Dean of University School of Information Technology, Controller of Examinations and the Director Students Welfare.
President Kovind has also appointed Dr Neelima Gupta as the Vice-Chancellor of the Dr Hari Singh Gaur Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar. Dr Gupta is presently serving as the Vice-Chancellor of Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU), Bihar.
In July, President who is also the visitor to central universities appointed vice-chancellors of 12 central universities.
