DU Admissions 2021: DU Cut-off by Oct 1; Board results to raise cut off
DU Cut off 2021 is likely to be higher than usual with many students scoring more than 95 per cent in CBSE Class 12th.
With more than 70,000 students scoring more than 95 per cent in CBSE Class 12th Boards, the Delhi University cut-offs are expected to go on the higher side than previous years, Rajesh Giri, Principal of Rajdhani College said. The registration process for nearly 70,000 seats available for undergraduate courses ended on August 31, 2021.
"Delhi University's first cut-off is expected to be released by October 1. With more than 70,000 students scoring more than 95 per cent, we have no choice but to keep the cut-offs on the higher side. Hence, definitely this year, the Delhi University cutoffs 2021 are expected to go higher than usual," he said while speaking to Shiksha.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 results this year have recorded the highest ever pass percentage of 99.37, with girls outshining boys by a slender margin of 0.54 per cent. The CBSE 12th pass percentage this year increased by over 10 percentage points against last yearβs 88.78 per cent. The difference between the pass percentage of girls and boys was nearly six per cent last year.
This year, the number of candidates who scored above 95 per cent has increased from 38,686 last year to 70,004 this year. However, the number of candidates scoring between 90-95 per cent has gone down from 1,57,934 to 1,50,152.
Professor Rajeev Gupta, Chairman of DU's admission committee, while speaking to Shiksha he said that Delhi University is likely to announce the first cut-off list for Undergraduate courses admissions on October 1.
"The Delhi University cut-off schedule 2021 will be announced by this week. October 1 is a tentative date for the first cut-off. We plan to release the first cut-off on that day. We are also holding meetings with college principals and nodal officers to finalise the DU Cutoff schedule," he said.
