DU Admissions 2022: South campus colleges witness several seat vacancies

Delhi University Admissions 2022: Delhi University admissions are currently underway. However, seats in several science courses, especially in the south and off-campus colleges remain vacant despite Delhi University releasing the third round of seat allocation. College principals attributed the vacancies to delays in the admission process.
The college principals also said that science students have more choices as they have the option to elect from the commerce course as well. The college is expecting that some of the vacancies will be filled by the third round. On Sunday, DU's Third Merit List 2022 was declared by Delhi University. Students were given time until Tuesday to accept the seats allocated to them.
As per the reports, the second round of allocations witnessed over 61,500 students taking admission to the university. In the third round, 16,231 seats for undergraduate programmes were allocated. As of 7 pm on Monday, 9,504 students have accepted the college and courses allotted to them. At Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, most seats in the commerce and arts departments have been filled with only one of two remaining vacant.
Principal Hem Chand Jain said that "the college had 912 sanctioned seats and 748 students had confirmed their admission by paying the fees as of 3 pm. Seats in the commerce and arts departments have been filled already." "We are facing problems in filling seats in science courses even in the third round. However, we are hopeful that the majority of seats will be filled in this round," he said.
