DU UG Admissions 2022: 6,000 seats still remain vacant after final round, check details
“In the last spot admission round, the university has allocated around 3,500. We will conclude the admission process for the academic session by December 31,” DU Dean of Admission Haneet Gandhi said.
DU Admissions 2022: Delhi University has admission process for both undergraduate (UG) is currently underway. Delhi University has allocated only around 3,500 seats to students in the last round of DU Admission 2022 in undergraduate courses, and around 6,000 seats are still vacant across colleges.
So far, around 64,000 of the total 70,000 undergraduate seats have been filled, the officials said as reported by IE. The Delhi University admissions 2022 are currently in the last phase. The varsity had earlier announced that the admission process for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the academic session 2022-23 will conclude on December 31.
On Thursday, the DU declared the allocated list. Candidates were given time until December 23 to accept the allocated seat. A senior official said "all the 70,000 seats across colleges will not be filled this academic year."
“In the last spot admission round, the university has allocated around 3,500. We will conclude the admission process for the academic session by December 31,” DU Dean of Admission Haneet Gandhi said. When asked if the varsity is planning to hold more rounds of admission, Gandhi said, “No, this is the last round for admission into undergraduate programmes.”
This means even if the 3,500 candidates accept the allocated seats, 2,500 seats across colleges will remain vacant. Delhi University's Admission Process is held in three phases; i.e. application process, preference filling and seat allotment-cum-admission. Delhi University is holding admissions this year through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2022. Until now, the DU Admissions were conducted on the basis of the Class 12th marks. The seats are mostly vacant in off-campus colleges. Most of these colleges are also the ones that have previously struggled to fill seats.
