DUSU Elections 2024 will be conducted in two phases with over 140K eligible students voting. Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court slammed parties owing to excessive spending and also warned to defer elections for indiscipline behaviour.

DUSU Election 2024: Delhi High Court has allowed Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) polling that is planned to be conducted in two phases today, i.e. September 27, 2024. However, the High Court has barred the counting and declaration of DUSU results 2024 until the public property is restored. Reportedly, the Delhi High Court has expressed umbrage owing to the trashing by the election parties as a part of their election campaigning.

The High Court has slammed the parties for their reckless behaviour and on Wednesday slammed the students's union and election authorities for deferment of elections if the necessary actions were not taken. A bench of Justice Manmohan and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela allowed for the elections to continue but expressed serious concern about the lack of regulations and transparency as candidates spent large amounts of money on campaigns. as reported by Hindustan Times. 

Delhi University Election 2024: All Students Eligible to Participate 

Delhi High Court, on Wednesday, has passed a judgement stating all students of Delhi University (DU) are eligible to participate in the students’ unions allowing students of three minority colleges i.e. Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College, Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College and Shri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, to participate in the polls against the colleges’ decision. Reportedly, authorities at Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College and Shri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce have decided to not participate in the DUSU elections. Consequently, Delhi HC has allowed students of these colleges to take part in the elections. 

The bench of Chief Justice designate Justice Manmohan and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela stated that counting of votes shall not be conducted till the Court is satisfied that the posters, spraypaints and graffiti have been removed and the public property is damage-free. Reportedly, the voting of elections shall be conducted tomorrow i.e. September 28, 2024.

No, Delhi University offers a full-time LLM programme of two to three years duration at the PG level. This course is offered by Faculty of Law under DU. University of Delhi LLM admission is conducted in online mode and for final selection, candidates are required to appear for the entrance exam conducted by the university. The CUET (Common University Entrance Test) - UG exam accepted by DU is a national-level entrance exam that is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate courses in various central universities, including DU. The scores of CUET are used for admission to both BSc (Hons) and BSc (General) courses in DU.

In addition to the above, some DU-affiliated colleges could have additional eligibility criteria, such as a minimum age limit or a requirement for a set percentage of marks in certain subjects.
