Gujarat University Issues Advisory to Students from Bangladesh; Apprise Not To Leave City Without Informing

Gujarat University Vice Chancellor held a meeting with around 25 Bangladeshi students studying at the university in the wake of crises in their country and issued helpline numbers to contact the authorities in case of emergency.

Gujarat University (GU) Ahmedabad has issued an advisory for university students from Bangladesh in the wake of crises ongoing in their country. The students have been asked not to leave the city without informing the authorities and to avoid reacting to social media rumours. 

Reportedly, the Gujarat University's VC held a meeting with around 25 university students from Bangladesh enrolled in various programmes of the university and affiliated colleges and asked them not to panic and avoid the rumours and social media posts. The university issued an advisory to the students and assured them of complete support during this time of crisis in their country, as reported by Indian Express.  

The Bangladeshi students have been asked to stay in Ahmedabad and not to leave the city without prior information owing to safety concerns. Further, students have been provided 24*7 emergency helpline numbers where the students can contact the authorities anytime. 

Reportedly, Gujarat University has over 300 international students under SAP enrolled for ICCR scholarships from countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan and from African continent. 

BHU Shelters Bangladeshi Students Until Crises Ease 

In the latest turn of events, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has announced that Bangladeshi students who have completed their studies reside in university hostels without incurring any hostel fees for the extended stay, until the Bangladesh crisis until the situation improves. BHU, which has a significant number of students from countries abroad, has helped its international students often during times of crisis.
