HITS Chennai Organises 15th Convocation; 1600 Students from 150 Programmes Receive Degrees
Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science's 15th Convocation featured 1600 Students from 150 Programmes receiving degrees and the presence of Nobel Laureate Andre Konstantin Gei where the aerospace scientists Mabi Narayanan and P Veerauthuvel were awarded Doctor of Science award.
The Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) organised its 15th convocation at Chennai where close to 1,600 students from over 6 Schools and 150 undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level programmes received degrees. These students were from multiple streams including engineering, SLAAS, architecture, law, and management. Along with the degree distribution, 69 rank holders received prizes for their exceptional performance.
During the event, Andre Konstantin Geim, the Nobel Prize winner for research in condensed matter physics, graced the event as the chief guest where the aerospace scientists Mabi Narayanan and P Veerauthuvel were awarded Doctor of Science achievement. During the event, an exclusive panel discussion was held on the theme of Graphene Applications in Aerospace and Defence where Geim explained the application of graphene, a material that is revolutionizing various industries from electronics to materials science.
