MG University Signs MoU with Kazakhstan University in New Collaboration

Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Kottayam has signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University for socially relevant research programmes. The topics including climate change and water purification will be accorded prime importance in the partnership. Also, these proposals can be submitted to Kazakhstan funding agencies. MGU Vice-Chancellor (V-C) C. T. Aravindakumar held consultations with Kazakhstan university officials.
The MoU inked between the two universities represents a pivotal strategic step aimed at amplifying collaboration across diverse fields. Notably, the Indian Embassy in Kazakhstan has reached out to MGU, extending a formal invitation to explore and establish partnerships with several universities in Kazakhstan. This proactive gesture seeks to foster broader connections and collaborations within the academic realm.
As per The Hindu reports, discussions are also on to initiate a joint degree programmes between the two varsities and beyond research endeavours, the collaboration aims to facilitate faculty and student exchange programmes for skill enhancement.
Moreover, there are ongoing initiatives to set up joint research laboratories, arrange seminars, orchestrate international conferences, and cultivate collaborative publications.
