Mumbai University approves 5-year plan focusing skill-based courses

Mumbai University aspirants must note that this perspective plan envisions a varied range of innovative skill-based courses such as stock-market course, construction and allied business management, agro-product management, plastic waste management, cloud computing and data tracking, data managing, manual compost making among all.

MU approves 5-year plan focussing on skill-based courses

Mumbai University has taken important steps to adhere to the National Education Policy 2020. The varsity has approved a new five-year perspective plan focusing on the skill-based education of students. According to the official info released by Mumbai University, instead of traditional Arts, Science and Commerce courses the new perspective plan will focus on offering skill-based courses complimenting the local needs of different regions covered under MU.   The five-year perspective plans for academic years 2024-25 to 2028-29 was confirmed at Mumbai University special senate meeting.

Mumbai University aspirants must note that this perspective plan envisions a varied range of innovative skill-based courses such as stock-market course, construction and allied business management, agro-product management, plastic waste management, cloud computing and data tracking, data managing, manual compost making among all.

 “Keeping in mind the requirement of local industries and employment opportunities along with higher education interests of the local population, the perspective plan covers all regions covered under MU – Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Palghar, Sindhudurga and Ratnagiri. There are different types of geographical conditions of all these areas starting from urban and rural set-up to even tribal, hilly and coastal areas,” read the statement issued by the Mumbai University on Tuesday.

“Apart from taking the geographical conditions into account, the perspective plan has also taken into consideration the existing higher education facilities and suggestions by stakeholders,” it said.
