National Award to Teachers 2024: The Ministry of Education (MoE) has extended the last date to apply for the National Award to Teachers 2024. Candidates who are yet to send in their applications must note that now the last date to apply for National Award to Teachers 2024 is until July 1, 2024. Applicants may share their applications on the official portal, nat.aicte-india.org. Faculty members from higher education institutions, colleges, universities, and polytechnics in the country may apply for the awards. The Ministry will felicitate the final shortlisted awardees on September 5.

According to the official brochure, the National Award to Teachers 2024 aims to recognize outstanding faculty in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) for their contributions to teaching, pedagogy, community engagement, institutional service, research, and innovative initiatives. The award honors faculty commitment and excellence in higher education.

National Award to Teachers 2024 Eligibility Criteria

  1. Occupation Requirement: Applicants must be regular faculty members at colleges, universities, higher educational institutions, or polytechnics in India.
  2. Teaching Experience: They should have a minimum of five years of full-time teaching experience at either undergraduate or postgraduate levels.
  3. Age Limit: Nominees must not be over 55 years old at the application deadline.
  4. Ineligibility of Certain Positions: individuals currently serving as Vice-Chancellors, Directors, or Principals, whether in regular or officiating capacities, cannot apply.
  5. Exception for Former Holders: Former holders of these positions who are under 55 years old and currently in active service are eligible for consideration.

National Award To Teachers 2024 Nomination Process

The nomination process permits self-nomination by individuals. Moreover, individuals who have held positions such as Vice-Chancellors, Directors, Principals, Faculty Members, or colleagues at the same university, institute, college, or polytechnic where the nominee currently works in a regular capacity, may also submit nominations. Former nominees can be re-nominated, fostering continuity and acknowledging sustained contributions.
