Odisha Governor Urges Universities to Focus on Education Quality for Global Competition

Odisha Governor Raghubar Das highlighted that despite the state's establishment as an educational hub in eastern India, none of its universities holds national recognition. Leading the vice-chancellor’s conference, the governor urged the VCs to enhance the educational quality within universities, aiming to position them competitively against international institutes.

He also said focus should be on enhancement of educational atmosphere on campuses, improvement of standard and increase in staff strength. He also called for successful implementation of the National Education Policy 2023 in the state. 

Odisha Governor Raghubar Das tweeted, "Being the educational hub of Eastern India, the universities here should be made world class. For this, the National Education Policy prepared under the guidance of Honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji will have to be implemented in a phased manner and followed in letter and spirit. Said these things in a meeting with Vice Chancellors and Registrars of state-run universities in Bhubaneswar today."

Utkal University VC Sabita Acharya said, “The Governor emphasised on research and innovation in higher education institutions. Discussions were also held on adding more chapters on culture and traditions of Odisha.” Santosh Kumar Tripathy, the Vice-Chancellor of Fakir Mohan University, emphasized the importance of conducting examinations promptly and promptly publishing results.
