SFI Delhi to present Students' Manifesto to parties; Seat Increase, fee hike rollback, accommodation key demands
SFI has outlined a comprehensive set of demands, 'Students Manifesto' to National Political Parties ahead of the General Elections 2024
In a bid to champion the rights and demands of students across Delhi, the Student Federation of India (SFI) Delhi chapter has announced an ambitious campaign to present 'Delhi Students Manifesto' to major national political parties.
The manifesto outlines a comprehensive set of demands aimed at addressing key issues affecting the student community in the capital. From affordable accommodation to equitable access to education, the manifesto encompasses a wide range of concerns crucial to fostering a conducive learning environment.
Among the primary demands highlighted in the manifesto are:
Provision of adequate accommodation facilities in colleges and universities.
Rollback of fee hikes post the implementation of NEP.
Expansion of college seats and establishment of new educational institutions.
Financial assistance for economically disadvantaged students.
Enhanced transportation facilities including concessional metro passes and free DTC bus rides.
Measures to ensure gender sensitization and curb sexual harassment on campuses.
Implementation of disabled-friendly infrastructure in educational institutions.
Provision of basic amenities such as sanitary pad dispensers, clean drinking water, and nutritious food.
The manifesto, intended to influence the discourse in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, underscores the importance of prioritizing student welfare and educational reforms on the national agenda.
To garner support for their cause, SFI Delhi has conducted a widespread signature campaign across educational institutions in Delhi. The campaign has seen enthusiastic participation from students eager to advocate for their rights and aspirations.
