St.Stephen's college allegedly ask minority students to withdraw admission, check details
As per reports, after the release of the DU 3rd Merit List 2022, St Stephen's has reportedly sent an email to candidates asking them to withdraw their admission.
St. Stephen's College has allegedly asked students from minority categories to withdraw their applications for admission. As per reports, after the release of the DU 3rd Merit List 2022, St Stephen's has reportedly sent an email to candidates asking them to withdraw their admission.
As per a TOI Report, after clearing their interviews, document verification and becoming eligible through Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG Scores, St.Stephen's has now asked students to withdraw their admission as they have been allocated a different seat through DU CSAS Seat Allocation, hence causing a discrepancy in documents.
Media reports further stated that students had also started to attend their classes. However, had not submitted their fees. Students had been asked to wait for the link to be made active on the DU CSAS Portal but however, but after the merit list, students were instead asked to leave.
While speaking, a student who had been admitted into the BA Honours course at St Stephen's was asked to leave as they were allocated a seat at Jesus and Mary College with a different course.
"When we went to the college, we were handed withdrawal forms. Several students broke down too. We even went to DU's head office where we were given a separate set of forms and we filled out our grievances," stated the student. Students further stated that St Stephen's has stated that would be discussing this matter with the university,
DU is currently holding DU Admissions 2022 for students who have applied for admission through the ECA, Sports, CW and supernumerary quota seats. The spot admissions round will commence from November 20, 2022 for the remaining vacant seats.
