St. Xavier’s college Ranchi Bus carrying 22 students met with accident near Gangtok
No casualties have been reported so far and the injured students have been rushed to the Central Referral Hospital in Tadong
As many as 22 girl students from St. Xavier’s college Ranchi have been injured after a bus in which they were travelling overturned in Gangtok today. Jharkhand government is in touch with the Sikkim government to provide immediate relief to students.
Earlier this morning, the road mishap took place near the 7th mile, along the National Highway 10 when students of St. Xavier’s college who were on an educational tour to Gangtok were returning to Ranchi from Sikkim.
Jharkhand Education Minister Jagarnath Mahto sharing the update about students wrote on Twitter: “A sad news has been received that a bus carrying the children of St. Xavier's College Ranchi on an educational tour to Gangtok has met with an accident near Rani Pul, near Gangtok. Respected Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren has spoken to Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang”
“So that the injured children can get proper treatment. The Chief Minister is also ready to airlift the children, but bad weather is becoming a hindrance. The government is fully prepared with every option for its promising,” he wrote.
As per reports, the students were on an excursion to Sikkim and they were bound in three buses, one such bus with 22-24 students on board met with an accident. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far. The injured students have been rushed to the Central Referral Hospital in Tadong where some have been treated and discharged.
