Tamil Nadu CM demands action against culprits of recent JNU Violence

Stalin has questioned the BJP and Central government and stated that the securities of JNU & Delhi Police have time and again turned mute spectators to the violence unleashed on students who are critical of the Union BJP regime.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister condemning the attack on Tamil students has demanded strict action from the JNU administration. In a series of tweets, Stalin writes: โ€œThe cowardly attack on Tamil students by ABVP & vandalising the portraits of leaders like Periyar, Karl Marx at JNU, is highly condemnable and calls for strict action from the Univ Admin.โ€

Questioning the clash between students at various higher education institutions in Delhi and particularly in JNU, M.K.Stalin writes that the securities of JNU & Delhi Police have time and again turned mute spectators to the violence unleashed on students who fight for their rights and are critical of the Union BJP regime.

He has stated that universities are not just spaces for learning but also for discussion, debate and dissent.

He also urged JNU VC to initiate action against culprits, he writes: โ€œI express my solidarity with the students & request VC to initiate action against the culprits and protect students from Tamil Nadu.โ€

On Sunday clashes happened after members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) accused Left-wing students of vandalising the portrait of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on his birth anniversary.

While JNU Students' Union (JNUSU) alleged that ABVP activists attacked some students after a march was held seeking justice for an IIT Bombay student Darshan Solanki who died by suicide.
