UGC invites fresh applications for Distance, Online Courses for session 2023-24

The Online portal for submitting applications shall remain open from March 15, 2023, to March 31, 2023.

The University Grants Commission has invited applications from Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to offer Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online programmes from the academic year 2023-24. The courses will be offered for academic sessions beginning from July-August, 2023 and onwards.

The UGC has invited fresh applications from eligible institutions as per the UGC Open and Distance Learning Programmes and Online Programmes Regulations, 2020 for recognition of the programmes under

Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode and/or Online mode from the academic year 2023-24, the academic session beginning from July-August, 2023 and onwards.

The Online portal for submitting applications shall remain open from March 15, 2023, to March 31, 2023.

The universities are required to submit applications on the Distance Education Bureau website, https://deb.ugc.ac.in/. They are also required to send a duly certified hard copy of the application along with the original affidavit and annexure by April 15, 2023, to the UGC head office in New Delhi.

Eligible HEIs that have been already recognized by the UGC to offer distance and online programmes for the academic year 2023-24 may apply for recognition of additional programmes if any.
The UGC Public Notice reads: “The HEIs are requested to visit the UGC DEB website at https://deb.ugc.ac.in/ for the prescribed application fee and for further updates/announcements in this regard.”
Following the submission of the application form UGC will scrutiny the form and eligibility of the institution to offer distance or online programmes or both.
