VCs are requested to organize at least one meeting with Ombudspersons every six months, coinciding with the beginning of each semester, to engage with students directly.

In a concerted effort to enhance transparency and accountability within academic institutions, Vice-Chancellors (VCs) across universities have been called upon to amplify awareness regarding the implementation of the UGC (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2023. This directive follows a recent virtual meeting convened by the Hon'ble Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) with Ombudspersons from various universities.

During the meeting, which was live-streamed on UGC's official social media platforms, critical discussions were held on the imperative need to acquaint students with the provisions outlined in the UGC Student Grievances Regulations, 2023. Additionally, it was proposed that periodic meetings between VCs and Ombudspersons should be conducted to monitor and evaluate the progress of implementing these regulations effectively.

In response to these deliberations, VCs have been urged to take proactive measures to ensure students are well-informed about their rights and the grievance redressal mechanisms available to them. This includes initiatives such as prominently placing banners and boards across campuses, publishing comprehensive information on university websites and bulletins, and implementing any other suitable measures deemed necessary.

Furthermore, VCs are requested to organize at least one meeting with Ombudspersons every six months, coinciding with the beginning of each semester, to engage with students directly and address any concerns they may have regarding the implementation of the UGC Student Grievances Regulations, 2023.

This initiative underscores the commitment of academic institutions and regulatory bodies to foster a fair and responsive academic environment, where the voices and grievances of students are heard and addressed effectively.

For further information or inquiries regarding the implementation of the UGC Student Grievances Regulations, 2023, concerned parties are encouraged to reach out to their respective university authorities.

Stay tuned for updates on the progress of this initiative as universities across the nation strive towards creating an inclusive and equitable academic ecosystem.
