IIT Bombay ends phase 1 placements with record job offers
A total of 1,723 job offers were made to the students during the phase I of placements at IIT Bombay.
Students of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay have accepted 1,382 offers, including pre-placement offers, from 315 companies so far. A total of 1,723 offers were made to the students of the institute. This is an all-time high record of number of offers made during the phase I of placements at IIT Bombay.
The phase I of placement season at the institute began on December 1, 2021, and continued till December 18, 2021. A comparison of offers received and accepted over the last three years is given below:

The highest number of offers was rolled out by the engineering and technology sector. The institute had two public sector undertakings (PSUs) coming in phase I of placements this year, which issued nine offers.

A release issued by the institute said, โWe have received a total of 45 international offers from different countries such as the United States, Japan, UAE, Singapore, the Netherlands, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The placement office also focused on connecting with growing start-ups and industry with diverse roles to tackle the market slowdown.โ
It said, โConsidering all the recruiting organisations at IIT Bombay, the average CTC package this year has been INR 25 lakh per annum. The highest domestic CTC package has been INR 1.68 crore per annum. The number of international offers above one crore are seven and domestic offers above one crore are five.โ
