IIT Delhi invites applications for Mittal Renaissance Scholars

IIT Delhi has invited applications from the students of the institute for the "Mittal Renaissance Scholars" programme for the academic year 2022-23. The last date to apply is August 22, 2022, up to 11:59 pm.

The Mittal Renaissance Scholars will be awarded a scholarship of INR 1.5 lakh per annum for up to two years. IIT Delhi students from the entry year 2020 with at least 70 credits and 8 CGPA at the end of 4 semesters are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

It is an initiative by alum Mr Saurabh Mittal (B. Tech, Electrical Engineering, 1995) with a vision to help the Institute's students in their all-around development, this scholarship programme aims to encourage them to become all-rounders and excel in multiple fields of life, said IIT Delhi's official statement.

IIT Delhi’s Technology Innovation Hub IHFC Gets 12 Projects 

IHFC (I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics), the Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) of IIT Delhi has received 12 out of 35 research projects launched under the DST-NSF joint research and development program. A total of 35 projects are being jointly funded under this program with an outlay of INR 46 crores.

A DST- NSF joint research and development project kick-off workshop was organised by the IHFC on August 8 and August 9, 2022, in association with the DST, the Government of India, and five other TIHs. The workshop was the first milestone toward the USA-India bilateral research collaboration program, which was initiated in February 2022. Dr Sethuraman Panchanathan, Director, National Science Foundation (NSF), US; Dr Akhilesh Gupta, Senior Adviser, DST; Prof. Rangan Banerjee, Director, IIT Delhi and Prof S.K Saha, Project Director, IHFC were present on this occasion along with other senior officials.

The workshop was organised to discuss how the projects to be implemented by the six Technology Innovation Hubs (TIHs) identified under NM-ICPS for collaborative research and development with NSF-supported institutions would leverage unique resources, such as testbeds and datasets available in India and the US, expand collaborations on critical technologies like AI and advanced wireless, and encourage student and researcher exchange programs.
