IIT Goa Placements 2022: Highest pay package stood at INR 1.1 Crore
73 out of 74 BTech students and 21 out of 22 MTech students have been placed with average packages of INR 23.4 and INR 12.4 lakh per annum
IIT Goa Placements 2022: Nearly 98% of IIT Goa BTech and MTech students secure placements during the academic year 2021-22. The highest pay package bagged by the students of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Goa was INR 1.1 crore, said institute director B K Mishra on the third convocation ceremony of the institute. “Even with constraints imposed by the ongoing pandemic, 98% of BTech and MTech students registered for placement have received lucrative offers. The highest package received stands at INR 1.1 crore. 73 out of 74 BTech students and 21 out of 22 MTech students have been placed with average packages of INR 23.4 and INR 12.4 lakh per annum, respectively,” Mishra said.
12 International Offers Secured by IIT Goa Students
This year students have also secured 12 international offers, he said. “Besides securing grants, several of our faculty members have brought laurels to the institute through awards and other recognitions. Since the turn of the year, we have secured 12 research grants from SERB and DST,” he said. Professor Devang Khakhar of IIT Bombay and IIT Goa board member Nitin Kunkolienker were also among those present. “Last year also marked our stride back to normalcy since the pandemic. We have gradually shifted from online to in-person lectures and other academic activities,” Mishra said.
NEP 2020 Implementation at IIT Goa
IIT Goa has launched many activities aligning with the recommendations in National Education Policy 2020, he said. “In order to promote multi-disciplinary learning, IIT Goa has started an academic unit named School of Inter-Disciplinary Life Sciences and introduced a course called LAMP - ‘Learning to Achieve Multi-Disciplinary Perspectives’, which focuses on carrying out projects on topics related to the sustainable development goals of the United Nations,” Mishra said.
Technology and Societal Learning at IIT Goa
The professor also talked about the TASLe – ‘Technology and Societal Learning’, another important supervised course to encourage students to work on the regional problems of developmental interest. “The six months’ internship policy for industrial collaboration for students and foreign collaboration projects undertaken at IIT Goa are one of the primary emphases in NEP 2020,” said Mishra.
