IIT Hyderabad, MRNH launches cancer screening on wheels

The Cancer screening drive is done on an Eicher bus fully loaded with all screening equipment. It is supported by the Rotary Club of Ameerpet and managed by the MRNH Team. The programme was launched with the Screening of more than 100 Contract Workers at IITH by the MRNH Team at Primary Health Centre (PHC), IITH.

Malla Reddy Narayana Hospital has initiated the cancer screening progam in association with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad. Haragopal, director of finance, MRNH and B S Murty, IIT-H director, launched the program.

The Cancer screening drive is done on an Eicher bus fully loaded with all screening equipment. It is supported by the Rotary Club of Ameerpet and managed by the MRNH Team. The programme was launched with the Screening of more than 100 Contract Workers at IITH by the MRNH Team at Primary Health Centre (PHC), IITH.

The bus has facilities like Doctor's Consulting Room, Mammography, Colposcopy, X-ray, and reporting room. It also provides a television to display the preventive videos and has a separate washroom inbuilt. MRNH has developed an exclusive, well-trained team to drive the Cancer Screening programme on Wheels. Thanking Dr. Bhadra Reddy, Chairman, and Haragopal, Director Finance, MRNH, for this generous gesture, Prof B S Murty said, "Through this collaboration with MRNH, we would like to take the Cancer Screening to the doorsteps of villagers."

Meanwhile, IIT Hyderabad’s TiHAN Foundation and ICAT have also collaborated to work in the area of autonomous navigation. The MoU has been signed between TiHAN and ICAT for collaboration in R&D on the verticals of autonomous navigation. Under this joint collaboration, the institutions will use the technical expertise and infrastructure to work in autonomous navigation. The partnership will also promote joint training and capacity-building programs.

The official press release stated that by combining the organization’s strengths and capabilities, this partnership will support the innovation ecosystem, skill development, and entrepreneurship activities in the field of autonomous navigation systems.
