IIT-IIM Indore inaugurates 2nd batch of joint programme

IIM Indore director Himanshu Rai and IIT Indore director Suhas Joshi attended the inaugural ceremony. The second batch comprises 54 students.

IIM-IIT Indore Joint Programme: The 2nd batch of the Master of Science in Data Science and Management (MSDSM), a degree programme offered jointly by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore, was inaugurated in a virtual mode on August 29. According to the official information released by the institutes, the second batch comprises 54 students.

IIM Indore director Himanshu Rai and IIT Indore director Suhas Joshi attended the inaugural ceremony.

“A lot of wisdom lies around us. We need to blend passion with compassion, mingle hard work with resilience & perseverance and add a pinch of curiosity to everything we learn, for that will help us create the world we wish to live in,” Rai advised the new batch of MSDSM.

Better education for future data scientists

MSDSM provides better education to future data scientists. The programme covers general concepts on algorithms, data structures, big data infrastructure, big data analytics life cycle, data security and management, contemporary management thoughts including behaviour elements.

IIM Indore signs MoU with PTRI

Meanwhile, IIM Indore has collaborated with the Police Training and Research Institute, Bhopal (PTRI) in order to conduct research and share knowledge in road safety and security.

The MoU was signed by Professor Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore, and G Janardhan, IPS, Additional Director of Police, PTRI, Police Headquarters, Bhopal, on August 29, 2022. Manoj Rai, AIG, PTRI Bhopal; Rakesh Gupta, IPS, AIG – Rural, Indore; and  Harinarayan Chari Mishra, IPS, Police Commissioner, Indore, were also present during the signing of the agreement.

The MoU aims to establish a framework for collaboration and cooperation for research and knowledge sharing in the field of road safety and providing solutions to road safety and social security issues.
